Department of Energy Offers Support for Arizona Solar Project

Project estimated to create approximately 400 jobs

U.S. Energy Secretary Steven Chu today announced the offer of a conditional commitment to Agua Caliente Solar, LLC for a loan guarantee of up to $967 million. The loan guarantee will support the construction of a 290-megawatt photovoltaic solar generating facility located in Yuma County, AZ, that will use thin film solar panels from First Solar, Inc.
